Ramadan Dining Plan 2024. Details Found Here!

Background

Ramadan is a month-long Muslim religious practice, during which, followers of the faith fast from sunrise to sunset. The fast involves abstaining from food and drink. Suhur/Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal, while Iftar is the breaking of the fast meal – meaning the meal consumed after sunset. It is common for observers to break their fast with dates.

Muslims follow a set of dietary rules which are outlined in the Qur’an. Foods that are Haram – or not allowed – include, but are not limited to:

  • Pork
  • Intoxicating drinks (this can include sauces containing alcohol such as soy sauce)

To accommodate those observing Ramadan, Tiger Hospitality will provide Halal meals for pick-up during the month of Ramadan. Bagged dates will also be provided all day.

Timeline

Ramadan will begin Sunday, March 10th at sundown. Ramadan will end on Tuesday April 9th.

Sunrise will range from 5:22am – 6:11am during the month. Sunset will range from 7:09pm – 7:38pm. Please visit this link for more detailed information on sunrise and sunset times.

Program Description

Meals will be available for pick-up upon request at West Village Commons, Glen Dining Hall, Newell Dining Hall, Glen Market, and Newell C Store. They will also be stocked for purchase at Tiger Express.
