Will your child or someone you know be coming to TU in Fall 2024?

Have you seen the news? We’re bringing back the successful TU Tigers Abroad program for incoming freshman and transfer students, and this year we’re headed to Cuba!

Last year we took 12 new TU students to Brazil for an unforgettable two weeks on a faculty-led study abroad program that took place following their New at TU Orientation in July. Students earned 3 credits for MTRO 101: Introduction to Metropolitan Studies towards their Core 10 requirement. Check out this short video for highlights.

TU Tigers Abroad in Cuba is a special opportunity only available to Fall 2024 incoming freshmen and undergraduate transfer students. Participants will earn 3 credits towards their degree and form a cohort of supportive peers on a study abroad program before their first semester at TU even begins. Studying abroad in itself is a life-changing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and this experience in particular is unique for students as travel to Cuba for tourist activities remains prohibited by statute.

If you know someone who will be a new undergraduate student at TU this fall, please encourage them to consider applying for this program developed with them in mind! Check out the TU Tigers Abroad in Cuba program page in Horizons for more information including the daily itinerary, academic information, eligibility requirements, cost information, how to apply, and more.

  • Priority Deadline: March 31, 2024
  • Final Application Deadline: April 15, 2024

Students will be notified by April 20th if they have been selected to participate. Note: TU tuition remission does not apply to faculty-led programs.
