Celebrating Physician Assistants’ Week 2023: October 6th – 12th
The Towson University Physician Assistant Program is one of over 300 PA programs in the country and it is the oldest PA program in the state of Maryland! The first physician assistants graduated from Duke University in 1967. Since that time the profession has expanded internationally with PA training programs now in Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. Here in the U.S., there are currently over 160,000 certified PAs currently working across all specialty areas of medicine.
Our PA program is committed to the promotion of the profession by preparing each cohort of students with strong academic backgrounds and clinical experiences to begin their careers as physician assistants. For more about the program, please see the Physician Assistant Studies (M.S.) webpage.
