What You need to Know About Transportation Services for Fall Term
As Tigers gear up for fall semester, Parking & Transportation would like to inform the TU Community about upcoming adjustments to our regular transportation services.
TU Shuttles
- The 401/Armory shuttle route has been discontinued with existing stops added into the expanded Kenilworth/Armory This change will provide more direct and frequent service during the semester to the Armory/401.
- Modified service during Summer, Winter, and Spring breaks to off-campus locations will be continued. Please continue to monitor TU Today Announcements for updates and more information as the dates for these breaks approaches.
- On-campus Gold Route will begin operations at 4pm on August 21st, 2023. The Gold route will serve the Stadium, Core & West Village areas starting at 4pm each day. All other on-campus and off campus routes will being normal operations at 6 am, Monday, August 28
SafeRide and SafeWalk.
SafeRide is an on-call service provided from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. seven days a week. Pick-up and drop off service is available for all areas on campus. If at any time you are uncomfortable walking on campus, you may request a SafeWalk escort. To request a SafeRide or SafeWalk escort, call 410-704-SAFE. You can also hail the SafeRide driver whenever on campus.
Paratransit
Paratransit services provide transportation to students, faculty, staff, and visitors with permanent or temporary mobility needs. To request paratransit service, call 410-704-RIDE (7433). Approval for long term service must be obtained through the appropriate department. Students should apply for Paratransit services through Accessibility & Disability Services or call 410-704-2638 . Faculty/Staff should apply by contacting OHR.
- Paratransit Services will begin on August 21st and run 7am – 10pm, Mon – Fri during the Fall.
- Please note, 1 Olympic Place Building is no longer provided paratransit services since IWB services have been relocated to 7400 York Rd
IWB 7400 York Road – Stop Locations
TU faculty, staff, and students wishing to use transportation to the Institute of Well-Being (IWB) at 7400 building may use the Lake-Walker Shuttle Route or the Baltimore County “The Loop”. Para-transit shuttle is also available to/from this location and the main TU campus.
Collegetown & Baltimore Loop Shuttles
- The Baltimore County “The Loop” shuttle is available as an alternative route to uptown Towson and other locations near TU.
- Baltimore Collegetown Shuttle which serves Maryland universities, transit hubs and 10+ essential stores will resume on Monday, August 28 – Saturday, December 16, 2023 for the Fall 2023 term. There will be no service from Thursday, November 23 – Saturday, November 25 due to Thanksgiving Holiday and delayed service on Saturday, October 14 due to the Baltimore Running Festival.
