The Towson University Staff Senate (TUSS) is the advocate body for all university staff employees. All TU staff are general members of the senate and are encouraged to attend general meetings. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted to TUSS SharePoint.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE RECENT TUSS MEETING:

  • Meet the Senate: All ex-officio Members and Senators attending shared answers to questions that helped us all get to know them a little more. Looking forward to a great term! 
  • Paychecks: Kandyce Pinder stated that the July 19 paychecks did not reflect full compensation increases because those increases were only applicable to 11 days of the pay period. The next paycheck will include the full period of wages at the new rates. THANK YOU to Kandyce and her team for their work! 
  • Stratus: Stratus continues to improve, and reports continue to be released. Our first year-end close in Stratus has gone relatively well. 
  • FY 2024 Budgets: These have been loaded including salaries. Be sure to review for accuracy and reach out for help as needed. 
  • FY 2025 Capital Budgets: Review at the Department of Budget and Management meeting on July 20, 2023. Vice President Lowenthal and Interim President Perreault continue to advocate for our needs. 
  • Enrollment: Fall numbers looking EXCELLENT! We are working to ensure interest results in actual attendance in the fall. Remember that all staff play roles in successful recruitment and enrollment at TU. TUSS will invite Vice President Bradshaw back in the fall for an update. 
  • Board of Regents Staff Awards: Congratulations to Anthony Rosas on receiving this prestigious staff award in the category of Effectiveness and Efficiency. Tony’s efforts toward sustainability practices in Theatre Arts are worthy of recognition and align with our sustainability values at TU.
