Use a new Tech Consult before buying/renewing software or submitting an IT project request

The Planning & Project Management Office (PPMO) in the Office of Technology Services (OTS) can help you with software purchases and contract renewals. We’re now offering Tech Consults for faculty and staff, which are customized to help identify your technology needs. During the process we’ll share info about university security and accessibility requirements, conduct an evaluation of potential existing solutions and provide you with recommended next steps. Tech Consults are requested through TechHelp.  

Benefits of the Tech Consult process:  

  • Streamlined collaboration: OTS and Procurement work together to keep everyone on the same page throughout the process.
  • Enhanced efficiency: one process for all IT purchase requests and options to use an existing product vs. a new purchase.
  • Improved security and accessibility: OTS helps ensure products meet current university standards.

Submit a Tech Consult request when: 

  • Considering buying software or renewing an existing software contract.
  • Searching for a new technology solution but don’t know where to start.
  • Looking to improve business processes using an existing TU technology.
  • Considering a modification or upgrade to existing systems.
