Faculty and Staff: Additional State Holiday Granted for 2022
Governor Hogan declared Dec. 23, 2022 as an additional State holiday in 2022.
To align the university and state holiday calendar, TU will now recognize and add this state holiday.
The state holiday means the university will be closed for holiday break starting on Dec. 23, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. Any planned leave for Dec. 23 may now be utilized at another date. Personal leave and accrued holiday leave must be used by the pay period ending Jan. 10, 2023 or the leave will be forfeited.
Regular Staff (exempt & non-exempt), Contingent II Staff, 12- and 10-month Faculty will all receive this added State Holiday on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Employees in 24/7 operations should discuss their holiday leave schedule with their supervisors. Holiday leave earned in 2022 must be used by 1/10/23.
