Mental Health First Aid Registration

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. This course is open to all TU faculty, staff and students at no cost in order to support others in crisis and reduce stigma surrounding mental health and substance use problems. The January course will be held virtually over two half days and require two hours of self-paced pre-work prior to the instructor-led sessions.

The training is scheduled for January 23rd and 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Detailed information for the participants will be sent out directly upon completion of registration.

Register at recreation.towson.edu by clicking on the “minimester 2023” semester and then the “mental health first aid” icon. Contact Katie White, Associate Director of Campus Recreation at kwhite@towson.edu with questions.
