FACET Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs or CREs) Community of Practice

Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs or CREs) have been shown to improve student retention and learning while also assisting faculty with furthering their scholarship. Following a welcome and overview by Biology faculty Laura Gough and Matt Hemm, Panelists Diana Cheng (Mathematics), Renee Dickie (Biology), and Jed Weldon (Biology) will each discuss the most challenging aspect of teaching their CURE, the most rewarding aspect of teaching the CURE, one aspect of their class that they are thinking about changing the next time they teach it and taking their CURE model and data to publication. This CoP is for all faculty interested in developing CUREs and engaging in interdisciplinary teaching. The panel will be followed by a Q&A session.
