Reminder: Monday, October 17 University Holiday

Juneteenth was celebrated this year as a State of Maryland holiday. As that day was already designated as a University holiday, TU has added Monday, October 17 as a replacement holiday.  Towson University will be closed on October 17 as a designated University holiday.

All Regular Staff eligible to earn the October 17 University holiday (pro-rated for part-time employees), the holiday will prepopulate on the timesheet for all Regular Staff (Non-Exempt and Exempt).

Staff in departments which observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions, should discuss coverage with their supervisors.

You must be in an active, paid status to earn this holiday.

While October 17 is a reassigned University holiday, TU has granted holiday leave for Contingent II employees. Contingent II staff will need to manually upload the holiday on their timesheet with the hours as follows:

HLCTE – Contingent Exempt II Staff

HLCTU – Contingent Non-Exempt II Staff

If you have questions about completing your time sheet, please email finservehelp@towson.edu.  If you have questions about your leave, please email leavebenefits@towson.edu.

In addition, please note that the 2023 Significant Date Calendar is still being finalized and will be available as soon as possible. To review the 2022 Significant Date Calendar, please click here.
