Apply Before 10/31 for RPAC Strategic Initiative Funding
RPAC (the Resource Planning & Advisory Committee) has launched a new Strategic Initiative Process to enable budget initiatives to bubble up from TU faculty and staff.
Below is a Q&A to let you know more about this new process.
What is a Strategic Initiative?
These are new initiatives that:
- Are proposed by TU faculty or staff
- Address a substantial need across Towson University departments/colleges/divisions
- Align with but are not currently included in the university‘s or departmental/unit strategic plans
- Require a minimum of $250,000 over a term of up to 3 fiscal years
- Are sustainable upon completion of the funding
What is the Process to Apply for Funding?
- Mid September: Proposal form opens
- Late September: RPAC leadership holds optional hybrid drop-in information sessions
- Friday, October 21st: Potential applicants can briefly present to RPAC to get feedback on their draft applications. If you are interested in presenting, please contact RPAC Chair Joyce Garczynski at jgarczynski@towson.edu by 10/13 to get on the RPAC agenda.
- Monday, October 31st: Applications due
- Early November: RPAC members evaluate proposals using rubrics.
- Mid-November: RPAC leadership sends division leaders the proposals submitted by their divisions and RPAC’s aggregate ratings of each proposal
- Late-November/Early December: Division leaders address whether they recommend that these proposals be funded in the budget presentations they give to RPAC.
