FACULTY: Join TU’s commitment to inclusive education during Blackboard’s May 19 challenge

May 19 is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and the 11th annual “Fix Your Content Day Challenge.”

About the event
For 24 hours, we’ll be on a mission to fix as many accessibility issues in course files as we can. The campus with the most files improved during the challenge will be nationally recognized and awarded a prize from Blackboard Ally. TU’s participation supports our campus-wide commitment to inclusive education.

How you can help
Fix those files on May 19! If you need help, stop by the TU Blackboard team’s table in the University Union, near the food court/stairs between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., no registration required. If you’re ready to get started on your own, here’s how:

  • Start clicking those red and orange indicators in your Blackboard courses and improve as many files as you can.
  • Focus on images that need a description and Word documents to start.
  • Aim for 100% but improvement is what counts!
  • Learn about accessibility in Blackboard and see resources for using Bb Ally to fix files.

If you have questions about the event, contact TU’s Blackboard team.
