Are you a transitioned FTP student? Volunteer as a mentor for returning FTP students!

About 50 Towson students are living on campus and taking community college classes to transfer into Towson without reapplying. They make up the Freshmen Transition Program (FTP)! Mentorship through this experience has shown to support FTP students through their second and last effort to transition into Towson. This is where the FTP Mentoring Program comes in! We are recruiting peer mentors for returning FTP students!

Mentors are:

  • transitioned FTP students, transfer students, and traditional students (students with FTP and transfer backgrounds are given priority)
  • freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors.
  • involved with one or more activities outside of their coursework.

  • students with a 2.5 GPA or above.

  • those who complete the Google Form for matching.

Expectations for Mentors:

  • Meet at least once a month for 30 minutes or more.

  • Attend at least one of the monthly events.

  • Communicate with your mentee at least bi-weekly via phone, text, or email.

Mentees are

  • Returning FTP students who have one last chance to transfer into Towson.

  • Towson students, not CCBC students.
