Winter Break 2021 – Regular Non-exempt Staff

Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 24, 2021, through December 31, 2021.  Holidays will pre-populate on the timesheet for December 24, 27, and 31, 2021.

Staff in departments that observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions, should discuss coverage with their supervisors.

Below is helpful information to assist you with completing your timesheet and a sample timesheet to use as a guide for the winter break.

  • Days on which work is performed, record the leave code REG and the hours for the day.  If you use other leave during this time, record it on the timesheet.
  • You must be in an active, paid status to earn any of the holidays below.
  • Floating holidays (HLUSE as shown) are typically used for December 28, 29, and 30, 2021.
  • If floating holidays are not available, accrued annual leave (ALUSE), accrued comp time (CMPUS), personal leave (PLUSE) or leave without pay (LWOPU) should be used.
  • Holiday hours are pro-rated based on an employee’s FTE. If an employee does not normally work on a day in which a holiday falls, the employee will need to take the hours off of that day and leave the time blank.

Timesheets for the pay period ending December 28, 2021. Please complete and approve your timesheet before leaving on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

**Floating holiday to be used on 12/28/2021. If the employee does not have a floating holiday to cover this time and does not work, they must use accrued annual leave (ALUSE), accrued comp time (CMPUS), personal leave (PLUSE), or leave without pay (LWOPU).

Timesheets for the pay period ending January 11, 2022 will be due on Monday, January 10, 2022.

**Floating holidays to be used on 12/29/2021 and 12/30/2021. If the employee does not have a floating holiday to cover this time and does not work, they must use accrued annual leave (ALUSE), accrued comp time (CMPUS), personal leave (PLUSE), or leave without pay (LWOPU).

If you have questions about completing your timesheet, please email finservehelp@towson.edu.  If you have questions about your leave, please email leavebenefits@towson.edu.
