Prepare for Flu and COVID-19 with Vaccinations and Boosters

TU continues to put the health and safety of the campus community at the forefront of decision-making.

The President’s Holiday Celebration, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the University Union, has been canceled out of an abundance of caution. A crowd of 400+ gathering indoors and doing so unmasked while eating was simply not worth the risk. And the event was not mission-critical at a time in which our faculty and students are working hard during finals week.

This decision was informed by an increase in positive flu cases on campus, according to the University Health Center.

Additionally, TU continues to closely monitor COVID-19 data, both on campus and in the surrounding community. Our campus community data continues to follow behind the trends of the surrounding community. As such, we are seeing some increase in positive cases, but because of our high level of vaccination compliance, we continue to trail the surrounding communities in positivity rate.

However, we are continuing to monitor data, trends and best practices.

As such, TU continues to strongly urge everyone — students, faculty and staff — to get vaccinated against both flu and COVID-19. And for those who are eligible: get your COVID-19 booster as soon as possible.
