Money Smart Week

TU students are encouraged to participate in Money Smart Week (MSW) hosted by UMBC, which offers a menu of fun and engaging speakers, workshops, and activities on a range of personal finance topics.

  • Tia M. Howard (Towson University) will empower students to evaluate credit cards for alignment with their personal finances and priorities.
  • Priscilla Graves, Jesse Ketterman, Dorothy Nuckols, and Carry Sorenson (University of Maryland Extension) will lead sessions on how to control your credit, choose a health insurance plan, budget wisely, and build better money habits.
  • Tom Manganello (S. Securities and Exchange Commission) will provide guidance on saving, investing, and avoiding scams.
  • Yvette Mozie-Ross, Trisha Wells, and Hannah Sadollah (UMBC Financial Smarts) will help students protect themselves from identity theft and become acquainted with the many types of taxes
