TU students are encouraged to participate in Money Smart Week (MSW) hosted by UMBC, which offers a menu of fun and engaging speakers, workshops, and activities on a range of personal finance topics.

- Tia M. Howard (Towson University) will empower students to evaluate credit cards for alignment with their personal finances and priorities.
- Priscilla Graves, Jesse Ketterman, Dorothy Nuckols, and Carry Sorenson (University of Maryland Extension) will lead sessions on how to control your credit, choose a health insurance plan, budget wisely, and build better money habits.
- Tom Manganello (S. Securities and Exchange Commission) will provide guidance on saving, investing, and avoiding scams.
- Yvette Mozie-Ross, Trisha Wells, and Hannah Sadollah (UMBC Financial Smarts) will help students protect themselves from identity theft and become acquainted with the many types of taxes

- How to obtain a free credit report via the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and
- The Maryland CASH Academy webinar archive which includes recordings on several topics such as talking about money, navigating student loan repayment, and dealing with creditors.
