New EV Charging Stations are Coming to TU

The long-awaited installation of TU’s new EV charging stations were delayed in response to safety measures for Covid-19. However, Parking & Transportation (PTS) is excited to announce that installation is expected to begin during the upcoming spring 2021 term.

The TU green initiatives are extremely important to Parking & Transportation Services; therefore, we look forward to providing this pivotal upgrade for the campus. The new unit will now serve two vehicles with 220V vs one 220V and a 110V charger. The new EV units are dual port Level II chargers equipped with 220V charging cables. This feature will be much more convenient because it will no longer be necessary for users to bring their own cable to use a 110V charger.

We will provide more information about the new EV chargers in the coming months. Be sure to check for updates on Twitter @GetAroundTU. If you have questions, please contact Parking & Transportation Services at upark@towson.edu or via the chat feature on the PTS website.
