Recognize a great TU staff member

It’s time to recognize the outstanding people that make a difference on campus and elevate TU. The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents (BOR) Staff Awards is the highest honor bestowed upon non-exempt and exempt employees, and makes their contributions known to TU, USM and the community. Along with recognition, award winners also receive a $2000 stipend from the Board of Regents and all Towson University finalists will be honored by President Schatzel with a $1000 stipend. Nominate a deserving colleague or yourself by November 16!

Nominating someone is easy:

  1. Fill out the nomination form found on the Towson University Staff Senate (TUSS) website.
  2. Include a nomination letter, position description, and one recommendation letter.
  3. Submit the nomination packet to Deniz Erman (derman@towson.edu) by November 16. Note: All nominations must be shared with the division Vice President and the nominee prior to the due date.

The USM-wide awards offer recognition in the following categories:

  • exceptional contribution to the institution and/or unit to which the person belongs
  • outstanding service to students in an academic or residential environment
  • extraordinary public service to the university or greater community
  • effectiveness and efficiency
  • inclusion, multiculturalism, and social justice
