What You Need to Know About Shuttles for Fall Term

The TU Shuttle buses will ride once again for the fall 2020 term with limited on-campus service starting Thursday, Aug. 13, and with full service when on-campus classes resume.  On and off-campus shuttles will continue to serve students, faculty and staff.  Iaccordance with the Tigers Care health initiative & CDC guidelinesshuttles will have limited seating for social distancing purposes. 

While in full-distance learning mode, a shuttle to Target & Weis will be available on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for those living on campus. Stop locations will be at:

  • West Village Garage bus slip
  • Union Garage bus slip on Cross Campus Drive
  • The shelter located on University Avenue at Lot GE (Glen Esk).

Service will be every 20 minutes with the last bus leaving the shopping center at 8 p.m.

As the TU community of students, faculty and staff head back to campus, either in a hybrid schedule or regular schedule, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) wants you to be prepared.  There are a few things you should know about TU’s on-campus and off-campus shuttle service for the fall 2020 academic term.   

What You Should Know 

Parking & Transportation Services Office 

  • The PTS Office is closed to the public for the fall term but will provide service via web chat, email, virtual appointments and phone. (Voicemail will be returned on within two business days)Please visit towson.edu/parking for more information. 

 Shuttle Routes 

  • TimoniumRodgers ForgeTiger in Town & CDX routes will not be in operation for fall 2020 academic term. Limited on campus service will begin on Aug. 13, 2020, all other shuttle routes will be in operation on the first day on-campus classes resume.
  • Certain shuttle routes will have route adjustments or suspended shuttle stops, meaning the stops will not be in service until further notice.
  • Please make sure to view your shuttle schedule prior to your first day back at TU.
  • To see if your shuttle route has any route adjustments or suspended stops, view the route schedules at towson.edu/parking/shuttlesSuspended stop information can also be found on TU Ride App.  

Shuttle Safety 

  • In accordance with CDC guidelines, each shuttle will have a limited number of passengers allowed on the bus.
  • PTS will increase the number of shuttles on routes in an effort to accommodate as many riders as possible.
  • Mask must be worn (over nose and mouth area) in order to ride any TU shuttle.
  • Only TU students, faculty and staff may the ride the off-campus shuttle buses this fall term.
  • You will need to swipe your TU OneCard (TU ID) to board on and off-campus shuttles this fall. If unable to present your OneCard, you will be asked to to provide your name, TU ID number and contact email for contact tracing purposes.
  • SafeRide will still be available from 2:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week. Contact SafeRide at 410-704-SAFE. For more information about SafeRide and SafeWalk, go to towson.edu/parking/shuttle/saferide.html 

Shuttle Schedule 

  • Riders should be aware, due to passenger limits, they may need to wait for a later shuttle.  Please plan accordingly.
  • Shuttle schedules can be found online in the Transportation section of the PTS website or TUTigerride.com. You can also download the TU Ride app from Google Play or the App Store for more real time predictions and other shuttle information.
  • Sign up for text alerts from the TU Ride app for up-to-date operating information for TU Shuttle schedules and routes
