Deadline Approaching to potentially win $3000: Submit a nomination for the 2020 USM Board of Regents Staff Awards today!

Nominate a colleague or yourself for the 2020 University System of Maryland Board of Regents Staff Awards.

The USM Board of Regents (BOR) Staff Awards is the highest honor bestowed upon non-exempt and exempt employees with at least 5 years of experience by the Council of University System Staff (CUSS).

The system-wide awards offer recognition in the following categories:

  • exceptional contribution to the institution and/or unit to which the person belongs
  • outstanding service to students in an academic or residential environment
  • extraordinary public service to the university or greater community
  • effectiveness and efficiency
  • inclusion, multiculturalism, and social justice

Nominating a deserving colleague is as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Fill out the nomination form found on the TUSS (Towson University Staff Senate) website (https://www.towson.edu/about/administration/staff-senate/).
  2. Include a nomination letter, position description, and one recommendation letter.
  3. Submit your nomination to your divisional vice president which will then be forwarded to Jennifer Morrow (jgmorrow@towson.edu) in the Office of Human Resources.

Deadline to have the first draft of packets sent to Jennifer Morrow is MONDAY, 11/18.

A maximum of 10 finalists (five exempt and five non-exempt employees from each of the five categories above) from Towson University will be selected by TUSS Board of Regents Staff Awards Committee to complete a final submission with two additional recommendation letters and optional supporting material.  Towson University finalists will then be forwarded to the Selection Committee for the System for final consideration.  The System winners will receive a $2000 stipend from the Board of Regents and all Towson University finalists will be honored by President Schatzel with a $1000 stipend.

Congratulations to Teresa Hardin, Antwaine Smith, and Marjorie Tversky Towson University’s 2019 finalists!  Congratulations to Jayne French this year’s  USM winner!
