  • Once directed to an unloading area by a uniformed staff member, immediately unload your items to the grass and sidewalk areas.
  • As soon as belongings are unloaded from the vehicle, please move your vehicle to a designated parking area in the appropriate garage. Housing staff will be on site with carts to assist you with moving your items to your room.

Vehicles cannot be left unattended. A driver must remain with the vehicle at all times while unloading.

Unofficial Move-In

If you are moving in any day other than the official move-in days, (August 22, August 24 and August 25) please follow the guidelines below.

  • During fall move-in, designated “Move-In” spaces will be located near each residence hall.
  • Vehicles may only be parked in “Move-In” spaces for a maximum of 30 minutes.
  • A permit is not required while parked in a “Move-In” space.  However, once vehicles are unloaded, vehicles must be moved to a legal core, overflow, resident or visitor space based on the individual’s parking permit type.
  • If you do not have a valid parking permit, you have two options:
    • Purchase a student permit online through the eParking link on the Parking & Transportation Services website.
    • Purchase a “Visitor” permit from a pay station for the timeframe your vehicle will be parked in an on-campus spot other than the designated “Move-In” parking spaces.
  • All vehicles must be parked in a legal space.
  • At no time is any vehicle permitted to park in fire lanes, on roadways, sidewalks, grass or otherwise reserved spaces (even for a few minutes).
  • Only vehicles displaying state-issued accessible (handicapped) license plates or placards may be parked in handicapped spaces.

For the safety of our campus community, illegally parked vehicles may be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.  For additional information, please visit the Parking & Transportation Services website, or call us at 410-704-PARK.
