Understanding and Using Lifelong Technologies Workshop

The Towson University Retired Faculty Association (TURFA) is sponsoring a free three-hour workshop, “Understanding and Using Lifelong Technologies.” TURFA members, current retirees, plus those planning to retire in the near future are welcome to attend. Agenda topics include:

  • An overview of technology resources for retired faculty
  • An interactive session on current security threats and how to identify them presented by the Office of Technology Services’ (OTS) Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist
  • A hands-on session using LinkedInLearning (formally Lynda.com), an online learning resource for learning about topics of your choice, guided by OTS Training
  • Why you should use Office 365 OneDrive, and how it compares to Virtual Workspace and other cloud solutions
  • Using the Mobile Park App from a computer or your smart phone, presented by Parking and Transportation Services

Date: Thursday, May 30, 2019
Time: 1- 4 p.m.
Place: 7800 York Road, Room 303

Parking is in the Glen Garage. NOTE: you must enter from Cross Campus Drive due to construction. Greeters will be give you a receipt to display on your dashboard. Since this is during the summer term, you can park in any spot (visitors, black, or green signs) except for Faculty/Staff spots (red signs).

Register by May 27. There is no fee, but registration is required for this event. Register online or call OTS Training at (410) 704-4070.
