Sabbatical Presentation by Erin Fehskens, Department of English

Erin Fehskens, Associate Professor in the Department of English, will deliver her sabbatical lecture on Friday, April 19, at 2:30pm in the College of Liberal Arts in LA 4317. Her talk is entitled “Hurricane, River, Waterfall and Sea: Caribbean Literature and Ecology, 1920-Present.” Caribbeanist literary scholarship has regularly engaged human activity on land as a way of charting histories of oppression and resistance, but this region’s literature also draws on bodies of water and human relationships to them. Prof. Fehskens will bring together work on two separate projects to trace water’s work in modern and contemporary literature in this region.
