Cultural and identity-based student organization? Sign up to participate in CultureCon 2019!

Towson University’s Housing & Residence Life is hosting a cultural expo event called CultureCon 2019 on Friday, April 26th, 2019 from 7-9p. Our event would not be complete without your organization’s presence; we would love for you to be a part!

The intent of CultureCon 2019 is to allow for the exchange of different ideas, experiences, and facets of the Towson University community. The event will have tables set up for organizations and groups to be represented, and is meant to allow for participants to freely go through the event to learn about different cultures and cultural resources. We would ask every participating organization to have some hands-on cultural activity for participants to engage with (e.g. the sharing information of a cultural dish, how to make “Papel Picado,” get your name written in Arabic, get your hand henna’d, etc.). We encourage thinking outside of the box, we just wanted to give a few examples to get you started!

In addition to the tabling, we are having performances through the event every quarter hour: (7:15p, 7:30p, 7:45p, 8:00p, 8:15p, 8:30p, and 8:45p). Performances should be no more than 5-10 minutes long. Please let us know if your organization is interested in performing!

Fill out this form HERE if you are interesting in participating and sharing your organizations culture with our Towson community either through performance, tabling, or both!

If you have any questions, or need anything at all please don’t hesitate to reach out Darius Francis at dfrancis@towson.edu
