Math and Reading Tutoring Opportunity

Have a passion for helping kids? America Counts is an opportunity for both volunteers and federal work study students to work one-on-one with Baltimore City middle school students to improve their number sense and math skills through schoolwork help and math games.

Tutoring opportunities are available at 4 middle schools and a facility of the Department of Juvenile Services. Hours are flexible and all we ask is for you to be dependable, responsible, and remain committed for the entire semester.

We are excited to announce that we are also incorporating the America Reads program this semester! The America Reads program aims to improve the language arts skills of elementary school students. This semester, we are partnering with one elementary school in Baltimore City.

Orientation and training sessions for America Counts/America Reads begin February 6th at 10:00am. During orientation, you will get more information about the program including expectations, guidelines, transportation, and federal work study.

For any questions or to sign up, email AmericaCounts@towson.edu. We hope to see you and your friends on February 6th at 10:00am in 7800 York Road Room 320!

This program is sponsored by the Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility and the Department of Mathematics.
