Research grants for undergraduate students
Advanced Research Grants for Undergraduate Students
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry (OURCI) invites applications for $5,000 grants that provide advanced undergraduate students with an opportunity to propose and pursue advanced research or creative inquiry projects during twelve weeks of the summer months. To be eligible, a student must graduate in December of 2026 or later.
The awards program seeks to emphasize individual curiosity and initiative, intellectual ambition, and scholarly work conducted individually or in groups. Each project requires a Towson University faculty mentor. Students with projects that relate to the Ben & Myrna Cardin Center for Civic Engagement & Civil Discourse may also apply for a new line of funding for student research, the Cardin Center Scholarship Program, with the same application for the Advanced Research Grant if they include additional information about how their project links to the Cardin Center’s mission.
Students also need to find a faculty mentor who will supervise the project and write a letter of support before the application deadline, please contact the OURCI office if you need help identifying one. A faculty member may only sponsor one student project. OURCI is happy to provide feedback on proposals and help connect students with faculty based on their research interest. Please email ourci@towson.edu with questions.
Please read the information about the program and the application on the OURCI website. The application is linked here and the deadline is March 3, 2026.
