Leadership & Executive Team updates

The following updates are being shared here for the campus community’s awareness. They are also updated on the TU administration website.

Three senior leaders at the university began this academic year with new titles. They are as follows:

Steve Eigenbrot, Ph.D., who continues to lead TU Athletics, was named the Vice President for Athletics earlier this year. This title change reflects the leadership he has brought not only as our lead administrator for athletics, but also as a valued member of the President’s Cabinet since joining the university in 2022.

Stephanie Shea, J.D., joins the Executive Team in her role as General Counsel and Sr. Vice President for Legal Affairs. She joined TU in July 2024 and has been an excellent addition to the President’s Cabinet and our University Council.

Sean Welsh ‘05 also joins the Executive Team and takes on a new role of Sr. Vice President for Communication & Chief of Strategy. His role continues his leadership of the Division of University Marketing & Communications, while leveraging that institution-wide focus on strategic matters to include greater collaborative execution of both TU’s Strategic Plan & Presidential Priorities.

Later this month, TU will begin a search for the next Chief Financial Officer. As announced last month, Ben Lowenthal is departing as CFO and Sr. Vice President for Administration & Finance to join Touro University as its Chief Financial Officer.
