Sabbatical lecture: Why are there norms of reasoning?

Nicholas Tebben will present his sabbatical lecture, “Why are there norms of reasoning?” on Monday, May 5th at 4pm in LA 1201. It seems obvious that we have norms of reasoning to help us find the truth. Dr. Tebben will argue that that is true but incomplete; their role in helping us find the truth is downstream from their role in enabling cooperation.
