Disability, Neurodivergence, & Chronic Illness Faculty & Staff Association – Visit Us!

Building Community, Understanding, and Belonging for Faculty and Staff

The Disability, Neurodivergence, and Chronic Illness (Disability+) Faculty and Staff Association warmly invites you to join our Spring 2025 events. Whether you identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill or as an ally, we welcome you to be part of our campus community.

We know everyone loves someone with a disability, neurodivergence, or chronic illness, and there is always work to do to make this world and Towson University more inclusive. And the best way to determine whether the Disability+ FSA might be a good community for you is to… Attend one of our events!

Upcoming Events:

Gen AI for Neurodistinct Teaching and Learning with Dr. Laura Dumin

Monday, March 24 at 11 AM via Zoom

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Laura Dumin, managing editor of Journal of Transformative Learning plus Professor of English and AI Coordinator at the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Dumin will facilitate an interactive presentation exploring how AI, including generative AI, has helped her, her family, and her students as neurodistinct humans in all aspects of life with a focus on teaching, learning, collaboration, and communication.

Community Hangouts:

Tuesday, April 22 at 10 AM at University Union 0349A

These gatherings are a space to connect with fellow disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill colleagues. Join us for an informal drop-in, where you can color, chat, fidget, or simply exist in solidarity. Bring a snack, bring a friend, or just bring yourself—no pressure, no expectations, just community.

Friday, May 2 at 1 PM at University Union 0349A

Another opportunity to connect in our welcoming community space. Same location, different time to accommodate various schedules.
