CHP and Smith Hall Campus Traffic Impacts
Two upcoming construction projects will create alternate walking paths around Smith Hall and the College of Health Professions (CHP) due to landscaping and hardscape work beginning March 17, lasting 8-10 weeks. Please see the maps attached for more details.
Work for areas A, B, and C will be accessed from Newel Ave, with the team working their way outward before heading north. Trucks for area D will enter from University Ave, and no trucks will park on University Ave. Flaggers will be stationed to manage traffic and ensure safe access to the work area.
The Smith Hall storm line connection project will begin on March 17, ending on March 28 in order to connect to a storm line outside the site, near Hawkins’s south entrance. This work will prevent significant flooding and discharge during heavy rains, which could wash out sidewalks in the event of a substantial storm.
