Student accounts will be enrolled in Duo starting next week: what to expect, actions required and how to get help if you need it

Your TU account will be enrolled in Duo Multi-Factor Authentication between Feb. 18 and April 30. After six months of optional enrollment, the university is enabling Duo on student accounts over the course of six weeks. If you’re already using Duo, you’re all set! If not, you can still opt in during the rollout.

What to expect: You’ll know you’ve been enrolled if prompted for a four-digit code when logging into TU services (like Blackboard or Microsoft, etc.).

Actions required: Your TU account will be enrolled in Duo, but you’ll need to set up your devices at towson.edu/netid to receive the code. Here are the steps for enrolling your device(s) and using Duo.

Recommendations: Enroll two devices (a main device and a backup) and pre-print codes in case you forget your phone/device or the battery dies.
