USPS and TU Postal Services Adopt A Letter Holiday Program
Towson University Postal Services is partnering with the United States Postal Service for the 2024 holiday season’s Operation Santa program. This over 100-year-old program helps provide families and children with a festive holiday they may not otherwise have.
TU Postal Services encourages faculty, staff, and students to participate by adopting letters as teams or individuals.
How to Adopt Letters & Important Dates:
- Monday, November 18: Letter adoption begins.
- Monday, December 9: Last day to send letters (must be postmarked by this date).
- Monday, December 16: This is the last day to adopt letters before the website closes at 8 p.m. ET. We recommend shipping packages by this date to ensure they arrive by December 25th.
Visit USPS Operation Santa and click on the registration link. Follow the prompts to register and verify your identity. Once registered, adopters can read letters and select up to 15 to adopt. After selecting letters, adopters will receive a welcome email with instructions on shipping gifts.
Shipping Instructions:
All Operation Santa packages must be shipped through USPS using either Priority Mail Service or USPS Ground Advantage® at a participating location. TU encourages students and staff to visit our full-service partner locations. Letter adopters are responsible for the postage fees.
Participating locations include:
- Towson Branch USPS: 101 W Chesapeake Ave, Towson, MD 21285
- Loch Raven Branch USPS: 808 Gleneagles Ct #1, Towson, MD 21286
