HR End-of-Year Processing Deadlines 2024
As the year comes to a close, the Office of Human Resources wants to remind the TU campus community about important deadlines before the holiday season. Please take note of the following:
Benefits Updates:
- USM Retirement@Work: Starting December 17, you will have access to a new online system to change your Supplemental Retirement Plan contributions with TIAA and Fidelity. More information will be sent on December 17 if you want to make changes for the first pay period in 2025. Please be aware that Deduction Authorization forms will no longer be accepted.
- Holiday Leave: All personal and accrued holiday leave must be used by January 7, 2025, or it will be forfeited.
- Prescription Drug ID Cards: Employees with the Prescription Drug benefit will receive new ID cards from MedImpact in December, which will be activated on January 1, 2025.
- Annual Leave Carryover: The maximum annual leave that can be carried into 2025 is 50 days (400 hours). Any leave over this limit must be used by January 7, 2025, or it will be forfeited.
Hiring Deadlines:
- Last New Hire Session of 2024: The final new hire session of 2024 will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. To have a new hire start on that day, offer requests must be approved by Tuesday, December 3, 2024 (we recommend submitting by Tuesday, November 26, 2024).
- New Hire Session for 2025: The first new hire session of 2025 will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. To have a new hire start on that day, offer requests must be approved by Friday, December 13, 2024 (we recommend submitting by Monday, December 9, 2024).
- Late December New Hires: If offers are approved on December 19 or December 20, 2024, the earliest start date for a new hire will be Wednesday, January 15, 2025 (we recommend submitting by Wednesday, December 11, 2024).
Job Postings:
- To have a position posted by the end of 2024, the requisition must be approved by Tuesday, December 17, 2024 (we recommend submitting by Tuesday, December 10, 2024).
Contingent I Renewals:
- To renew a Contingent I contract before the end of the year, the renewal must be approved by Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (we recommend submitting by Wednesday, December 4, 2024).
