Can Your Citation Fee Reduction Program Returns for the 2024 Holidays
Parking & Transportation Services is excited to bring back our annual “Can Your Citation” Food Drive to benefit TU’s FoodShare program. We accept donations of canned goods, toiletries, and nonperishable items from Monday, December 2, to Friday, December 13. In 2023, the TU community collected over 300 items—let’s make this year even bigger! We are also accepting Toy donations for TUPD’s Toys for Tots initiative. Donations of these items can be used to reduce or waive parking citations.
Citation Reductions:
- 5 canned items = $25 citation reduction
- 10 canned items = $ 50 citation reduction
- 20 canned items = $100 citation reduction (one citation waived)
Donation Categories:
- Toilet paper (4-6 count pack) = 5 canned items ($25.00 citation reduction)
- Feminine Care Products (24 count pack) = 5 canned items ($25.00 citation reduction)
- Deodorant (2 count packs) = 5 canned items ($25.00 citation reduction)
- Toothpaste (3-5 count pack) = 1 canned item
- Toothbrush (4-6 count pack) = 1 canned item
- Bar Soap (10-12 count pack) = 5 canned items ( $25.00 citation reduction)
- Canned goods/non-perishable food (1 package/1 can) = 1 item
Donation Drop-Off:
Please bring your donations to the Parking & Transportation Office on the Union Garage’s lower level between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Eligibility:
- One citation only can be reduced or waived per participant.
- Citations with late fees require donations to cover both the fine and late fee
- Eligible citations must have an issue date between October 28, 2024, and December 13, 2024
- No glass jars or dented or expired donations
Ineligible Citations:
The following types of citations cannot be reduced or waived:
- Citations under appeal or transferred to a University Billing account
- Accessibility (Handicap) violations
- Safety-related citations, such as those for parking in fire lanes, roads, prohibited areas, permit misuse, or altered permits
Additional Details
- No citation? No problem! Donations are welcomed from everyone, whether or not you have a citation.
