Invitation to “Immigration 101” Learning Session – Building a Supportive Network for Immigrant Students
Dear all,
Lately, I have been approached by multiple departments expressing interest in learning more about immigration status and how it impacts our students. To support this growing interest, I’m excited to invite you to an “Immigration 101” learning session. In this session, we’ll discuss the basics of various immigration statuses, what these mean for our students, and how we can serve as effective allies within our campus community.
Session Details:
Date: Thursday, November 21
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: University Union, Room 0349
For Faculty and Staff ONLY
Note: Please feel free to bring your lunch.
In addition to sharing this foundational knowledge, my goal is to intentionally start creating a network of professionals who are passionate about supporting immigrant students. Your participation would be invaluable, and I would appreciate it if you could think about others who might play a key role in this initiative. Identifying additional supportive community members will strengthen our efforts and ensure that our students feel supported across departments.
Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to beginning this important work together.
Warm regards,
Alejandra Balcazar
