Join TU Music Professor, Eva Mengelkoch, as she discusses Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy, a composer, peace activist, and lawyer active in Germany before the Nazi seizure of power. This year marks his 150th Birthday. In celebration, Mengelkoch has edited a collection of Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s songs, dedicated to his assistant and subject of his unreturned affections, Lena Schoch. In addition to introducing listeners to the composer, the talk will recount the story of the discovery of this music and the art of creating a scholarly edition.
