NSF Research.gov Login Updates

Since October 27, 2024, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has required multifactor authentication (MFA) for Research.gov. Users must set up a primary MFA method, which they’ll use for each login.

What does this mean for you?

To access Research.gov, you need to complete a one-time MFA setup. NSF recommends choosing a phishing-resistant MFA. Without enrolling in MFA, you won’t be able to log in.
