Do you want to be a Writing Fellow?

Flyer advertising the writing fellows program reads, "Do you want to be a writing fellow?" Students: Do you want to join a close-knit community of high-performing scholars? Do you like supporting your peers? Then you want to be a Writing Fellow!!

Writing Fellows are embedded tutors, assigned to a specific writing-intensive class for the duration of a semester. In this role, Writing Fellows collaborate with their faculty partners to coach and support all of the students enrolled in the course. Fellows gain hands-on teaching experience and develop personalized tutoring strategies.

Some of the benefits of this experiential learning program include:

  • Make $2000 for summer training in linguistic theory, tutoring, and teaching
  • Work collaboratively with faculty to help foster a healthy culture of writing on campus
  • Learn how academic communication varies across different disciplines and improve your writing strategies and skills
  • Develop research projects in writing studies and present at academic conferences
  • Build your resume for graduate school applications
  • Work at the Writing Center during the academic terms, starting at $15.15 per hour

If this sounds like the right program for you, sign up here to attend an informational zoom meeting [click], where you will learn about the program application timeline/expectations, the interview/selection process, and details about the summer training.
