Leading with Self-Love

Join Rose Marika Mwansa, a senior at Towson University, majoring in Communication studies and minoring in Marketing, to learn about self-love at Women in Leadership on Sat. November, 2!

This workshop will focus on pausing as one step on the journey to attaining self-love as leaders. We will discuss some of the “unattractive” aspects of that journey and how to approach feelings of shame, guilt, and embarrassment with less fear.

During her time at Towson, Rose Marika has served as a Healthy and Diverse Minds Team Lead, Competitive Fellowship and Awards Ambassador, a new student Orientation Leader, and as member of the Communication Studies Student Council. Her research interests include exploring how Black women in the Netherlands approach the unattractive aspects of attaining self-love within a postcolonial, Eurocentric environment. In her free time, Rose Marika enjoys sewing, singing, laughing, meditating, having intellectual & spiritual conversations, and spending time in nature.

The theme Permission to Pause recognizes the many reasons why women need to take a moment, step back, pause and reflect. Embedded in this is the idea that women often need to give ourselves permission to be or do something.

This program will leave you feeling connected, uplifted, and confident in your leadership as you take a moment to pause and learn with us!

Schedule for the day includes: Networking, keynote speaker, presentations, A Capella performance, lunch & panel, mocktails, headshots, community art, and post-event gallery walk!
