You should go to Barcelona for Spring Break… application deadline extended to Nov. 11!

Spring Break may seem like a long time away now, but it will be here before we know it. The Career Exploration and Professional Development in Spain study abroad program is perfect for any TU student and the application deadline has been extended until Monday, November 11th at 11:59PM. Spaces are still available, don’t miss out on your chance to spend Spring Break in Barcelona, Spain!

Spring Break is a great time to study abroad, and here’s why:

  • If you’re graduating in May, it’s your last chance to go!
  • You are only abroad for one week if you can’t or don’t want to commit to being away for too long
  • You can use Financial Aid to help with the costs
  • You don’t need to know Spanish to go
  • Most classes and assignments take place before and after your travel, so your time in-country is centered around unforgettable cultural activities and visits
  • You can squeeze in an amazingly beneficial experience for your academic, personal, and professional growth during a time when you might otherwise not do anything… and come away with 2 more credits toward your credit hour requirement for graduation!
  • Your friends across different majors can participate too!

By participating in this program, you’ll secure real-life skills you’ll need when you embark on the job search or prepare for entering the workforce upon graduation and learn how to build or enhance your resume, write a cover letter, and improve your interviewing and networking skills. Since the EDUC 121 course is open to any major, visits to companies and organizations in Barcelona as well as guest lectures from industry experts are selected based on the students enrolled in the course! Cultural highlights in Barcelona include the opportunity take a Spanish cooking class, enjoy a flamenco show, visit the beautiful La Sagrada Familia, tour the city’s unique architecture and food, and a full day excursion to Montserrat in the breathtaking Catalonian countryside. You’ll also have a free day to explore Barcelona on your own, hike in the nearby mountains, relax on the beach, or do some shopping.

Participants will take EDUC 121 Designing Your Career Plan (2 credits) with Prof. Lorie Logan-Bennett. The application deadline is extended to November 15, 2024. Spaces are still available but admission is on a rolling basis. Full program details and the application are available in Horizons.
