RPAC Now Accepting Pre-Proposals for FY 26 Strategic Initiative Funding
The Resource Planning & Advisory Committee (RPAC) is accepting pre-proposals for funding of new fiscal year 2026 strategic initiatives.
These are initiatives that:
- Are proposed by Towson University faculty or staff
- Address a substantial need within TU departments/colleges/divisions
- Demonstrate collaboration between TU departments/colleges/divisions
- Align with but are not currently included in the university’s or departmental/unit strategic plans (https://www.towson.edu/about/mission/strategicplan.html)
- Require a minimum of $250,000 over a term of up to 3 fiscal years
- Are sustainable upon completion of the funding
The pre-proposals will be reviewed by RPAC and select applicants will be invited to move forward with full proposals based on the clarity of their summary, the alignment with a unit’s or TU’s strategic plan (but not overlapping), the impact of the initiative, the proposed budget and the proposed budget justification. Those selected to submit full proposals will be invited to present their full proposals to RPAC at our December or February meeting and the completed full proposals will be due shortly after the presentation. RPAC will then make recommendations to the President’s Cabinet and the president, who will ultimately make decisions about funding in Spring 2025.
This is the third year for the RPAC-led Strategic Initiative program. TU funded 2.5 proposals in FY 2024, and one proposal in FY 2025. Due to Maryland state budget challenges, availability of funding in FY 2026 may be limited.
If you are interested in applying, please complete the pre-proposal form by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.
