Tomorrow: The Wing chun Wong Memorial Lecture

The purpose of this memorial lecture is for recollecting and honoring Dr. Wing-chun Wong, who taught in the department of philosophy and religious studies until his untimely death in the summer of 2001. Guest speakers in the fields of Dr. Wong’s expertise and interests such as Asian/Comparative philosophy, philosophy of music, Kant, and philosophy of science have been invited. This lecture is open to the public.

Dr. Timothy Connolly is Professor of Philosophy at East Stroudsburg University. His research focuses on ethics in classical Chinese traditions as well as the methodology of cross-cultural philosophy. He is the author of Doing Philosophy Comparatively (2015, with a 2nd edition in 2023) and Foundations of Confucian Ethics: Virtues, Roles, and Selves (forthcoming, 2025). Currently he is working on a project that brings together contemporary discussions of transformative experience with perspectives from classical Chinese texts.
