Sabbatical Presentation by Jenee Mateer, Department of Art + Design, College of Fine Arts and Communication

Jenee Mateer, Professor of Photo Imaging in the Department of Art, presents her sabbatical talk on Thursday, October 3rd in CFA 4005 at 12pm. The title of her presentation is “Entropy and Other Sabbatical Projects.”

Inspired by Renaissance still life paintings, representations of ‘nature mort’, Entropy developed out of an interest in the recycling of energy that happens in nature and art. The images in this series are at once a metaphor for our layered consciousness and a reminder of eternal cycles of composition/decomposition/re-composition and our connection to and impact on the world around us. This presentation will showcase work from the Entropy series and book and also touch on a few other projects undertaken during sabbatical.
This talk is free and open for all to attend.
