Sabbatical Presentation by Elsa Lankford, Department of Electronic Media and Film, College of Fine Arts and Communication
Elsa Lankford, Professor in the Department of Electronic Media and Film, presents her sabbatical talk on Friday, September 20 on Zoom. The title of her presentation is “Podcasting From the Heart: Producing a Stage 4 Cancer Care Partner Podcast.”
EMF Professor Elsa Lankford developed her Care Partner’s Compass: Navigating CRC podcast during her 2023-24 sabbatical. The podcast idea was inspired by her work as a care partner to her incredible wife Kristine who has stage 4 colorectal cancer. The podcast was developed and produced during the sabbatical, and the first season covers topics that are helpful to people with cancer, care partners, and anybody who knows or loves somebody with cancer. In this sabbatical presentation, she will talk about her podcast creation/production process, how somebody who doesn’t like to talk on mic ended up hosting the podcast, the difficulties of working with such a personal subject matter. We’ll also listen and discuss clips from one or more of the eleven episodes of the first season. The podcast can be found here: https://carepartnerscompass.transistor.fm/
Elsa Lankford’s sabbatical talk will be presented as part of COFAC’s Colloquium 65 on Friday, September 20, at 3:00pm on Zoom.
