Smith Hall Partial Building Demolition
Smith Hall Project Partial Building Demolition Work
The Smith Hall construction project is a multi-phase project taking place over the next two years and will involve the demolition of a part of the building on the east side near Cook Library. The east wing (constructed in 1964) will be carefully razed during a three-month demolition operation.
What you need to know:
- Work will begin on May 1st, 2024.
- This operation includes heavy demolition equipment around the building and removing large construction debris from the job site.
- For minimum campus disruption, demolition equipment will not operate during final exams.
- Debris removal and dump truck traffic on Glen Drive will continue throughout May.
