Seeking Volunteers: Spring 2024 Commencement

Faculty and staff are invited to join TU’s rich history of service to graduating students, their families, and guests by volunteering to serve at Commencement. Many volunteers are needed to ensure that the ceremonies run smoothly and provide the best possible Towson University experience for all participants Wednesday, May 22 through Friday, May 24.

Volunteers engage directly with visiting guests by providing directions, guidance, and a celebratory atmosphere throughout campus. They play a vital role to many families who are visiting Towson University for the first time during this celebration. The schedule of spring ceremonies is as follows and most volunteer shifts begin approximately 2 hours before the start of each ceremony.

Wednesday May 22

  • 10 AM: College of Fine Arts and Communication
  • 3 PM: Fisher College of Science and Mathematics

Thursday, May 23

  • 10 AM: College of Business and Economics
  • 3 PM: College of Liberal Arts

Friday, May 24

  • 10 AM: College of Education
  • 3 PM: College of Health Professions

There are a variety of roles and shifts available; additional volunteer details can be found at https://www.towson.edu/academics/commencement/volunteers.html.

Please register at https://towsonuniversity.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=80073on by May 8 to be part of the pomp and circumstance as we welcome friends, guests, and family members to campus during the most celebratory time of the year. Volunteer assignments will be confirmed via email as the ceremony dates near.
