Featuring Rachael Daudelin and E.C. Kaufman, PhD:
Rachael Daudelin is a new Academic Advisor for the College of Business and Economics, but outside of her professional life, she is a longtime ARFID sufferer and advocate. Rachael will present and lead a discussion on “Food Neurodivergence and ARFID in Adults”, providing a brief overview of ARFID, related conditions/symptoms, and how they impact people. With some brainstorming on best practices and strategies for self-care and supporting those around who might share these experiences.
E.C. Kaufman is an Assistant Professor of Geography and Urban Planning, and graduate faculty in Autism Studies, at Towson University. With a PhD in geography from the University of Kentucky, their training includes gender studies, social theory, socio-legal studies, and qualitative methods. E.C. will provide an overview of inclusive syllabus language they have compiled, and invite others to discuss and share their inclusive language. E.C. will share some insights on “Slow(ed) Scholarship: On crip time and refusal in the academy”, a recent collaborative project viewing the slow scholarship movement from a critical disabilities perspective—and our own embodied ones. Following this with a breakout room discussion.
