Unearthing TU History Project is Hiring Student Researchers

Interested in bringing additional voices into a more inclusive history of diversity, student organizing, and protest at Towson University?

Consider applying to be an Unearthing TU History Research Assistant!

Research assistants will work with and under the mentorship of a team consisting of the Assistant University Librarian for Special Collections and University Archives, the Chair of the Department of History, and the Assistant Director of Diversity Training and Initiatives.

This is a part-time, temporary position for approximately 150 hours during June and July 2024. Two positions are available at $18/hour and the positions are open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

There is some flexibility with the specific work schedule, but the majority of hours worked will occur during traditional business hours. Projects will focus on recording oral history interviews with alumni but will also involve collecting alumni memories, conducting research into Towson University’s history, and sharing a more diverse history with the Towson community. Successful candidates will be self-starting, focused, detail-oriented, comfortable working through uncertainty, passionate about understanding diversity at Towson, and will thrive when working independently as well as in group situations.

Interested students should complete an online application at https://forms.office.com/r/0m03cLkqz6

For full consideration apply by 9AM on Monday, April 22.
