Sabbatical Presentation by Jay Herzog, Department of Theatre Arts, College of Fine Arts & Communication
Jay Herzog, Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, presents his sabbatical presentation on Friday April 19, 2024, 3:00pm on Zoom. The title of his presentation is, “Does Theatre work in VR?“
During his sabbatical, Herzog questioned if Virtual Reality is a viable delivery system for Theatre? And if so, what type of theatre would work? He learned to use software to build virtual worlds which included traditional and nontraditional performance spaces. He produced readings of new scripts, interviewed other VR Theatre makers and produced a one person show with a TU Theatre grad with a team of artists. Does he now know the answer to his question? Come find out what discoveries brought him to his (Conclusion?)
